INTENSE PULSE LIGHT
Intense Pulse Light, or IPL, is a skin rejuvenation treatment that reduces the appearance of age spots, flushing and sun-damaged skin. This procedure also improves mild acne scars, dark circles around the eyes and skin texture. IPL can be done as a spot treatment or on an entire area. We typically recommend a series of treatments, typically 3, for best results. This highly effective treatment involves little or no down time, which means you can resume your normal activities immediately.
- Facial redness
- Dark spots and photo aging
- Dark circles under the eyes
- Evening of skin tone
We recommend that you have Epionce™ Medical Barrier Cream and Epionce™ Ultra Shield Lotion SPF 50 for your post treatment at home care.
What to Expect Prior to Treatment
Your skin will be prepared and cleansed to remove any make-up or skin care. Protective eyewear will be provided. Cooling gel will be applied to the area being treated.
What to Expect During Treatment
The energy from this treatment is delivered in pulses. Each pulse lasts for about a second. Test pulses will be performed to find a setting that is comfortable for you. This may feel warm or hot. Each pulse may feel like the snap of a rubber band. Any discomfort usually goes away within seconds after each pulse. Depending on the size of the area being treated, this procedure typically takes about 45 minutes from start to finish.
What to Expect After Treatment
The cooling gel is removed and ice packs are used, if needed. Epionce™ Medical Barrier Cream and Epionce™ Ultra Shield Lotion SPF 50 will be applied to the treated areas. We ask that you avoid direct sun exposure for the first 24 hours.
At Home Care
It is recommended that you cleanse the treated area about every 12 hours with a gentle cleanser such as Epionce™ Milky Lotion Cleanser or Epionce™ Gentle Foaming Cleanser for the first 2-3 days. After cleansing, and if the treated area begins to feel dry, apply Epionce™ Medical Barrier Cream followed by two applications of Epionce™ Ultra Shield Lotion SPF 50 with the second application applied 30 minutes after the first one. You should be able to continue your normal skin care program after 2-4 days, making sure to apply sunscreen daily, year round.
What You Should Know
If you do experience any redness after your treatment it should fade within the first day. If you had dark spots treated then they may look darker and mottled. These spots will begin to fade after the third day and typically resolve within a week.
$245 per treatment.
